The “I’m A Person” Project reinforces strong values and principles in children, helping them to develop positive, personal and social attitudes, coping skills and resilience.

Enriching Character Development and Values
• It is important to have access to supportive materials to equip families and children with knowledge and skills for responsible, positive thinking and behavior towards becoming contributing members of their communities.
• The “I’m A Person” Project continues to energize classrooms and homes positively effecting the lives of children, parents and teachers.
• This caring, cooperative learning system emphasizes valuing human worth and dignity.
• Schools in S. Florida showed an increase in self-awareness, kindness and compassion, following the “I’m A Person” Week events.
• This project brings into focus the importance of team-building skills and reaching one’s full potential.
• The “I’m A Person” song is a model for self-respect, respect for others and encourages the basic principles of good behavior towards the human development, ethically and socially.

Enhancing Concentration and Creative Abilities
• An effective and innovative way to increase skills, including critical thinking, problem solving and communication
• Understanding the important relationships between using the expressive elements of music, and speech / language development, language coordinators have been using the song, as well.
• The “I’m A Person” Project can be expanded and utilized across several subject areas, including math, science, geography.

“I’m A Person” Project - A Catalyst for Community Building

• The Song / Fostering Civic Participation and Good Citizenship - “I’m A Person” is a diverse communication tool and an intergenerational unifying family program.
• School and Family Partnerships are strengthened from this parental skill-building resource.
